Bee Basics
3-hour introduction to help you decide if beekeeping is right for you.
Curious about keeping bees but not sure where to start — or if it's even the right fit? Bee Basics is a short, practical session designed to give you a real look at what beekeeping involves, without committing to a full course or colony (yet).
Over 3 hours, we’ll cover the fundamentals:
🐝 The basics of bee biology and hive life
🧰 The tools and equipment you’ll need (and what not to buy!)
📅 The time, commitment, and seasonal work involved
🌼 Different approaches to beekeeping and what might suit you best
💛 Responsible stewardship and caring for bees long-term
You’ll also get to visit a working hive (time and weather permitting), see equipment up close, and have time to ask questions.
This session is not a course — it’s a clear-eyed introduction. Whether you’re dreaming of bees in your backyard or just want to learn more, it’s the perfect first step.
Facilitated in English - workshops will be conducted throughout April-June
