Program Details

During the summer months (May to September), hive inspections are required every 10 days to two weeks. Workshops and courses occur monthly, with some sessions split into multiple dates to accommodate all members. Expect to participate at least once a month.

No experience is necessary! All you need is curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Alternative dates will be offered to ensure you can choose one that suits your schedule.

The program runs on a calendar-year schedule, with sign-ups and renewals taking place from November to January

Membership and Costs

The membership fee covers all essentials, including safety equipment, tools, hives, bees, and access to facilities. Specialty packaging materials are not included but are available at cost.

Hands-On Experience

You will independently handle your hive under the guidance of Apiverte mentors, learning all essential colony care tasks throughout the season.

If you plan to be away for an extended time, notify us, and we’ll care for your hive to ensure its health.

Yes! You are free to package your honey however you prefer.

The facilities operate year-round, with staff onsite or nearby during regular business hours. A schedule for member access will be provided.

Bee and Hive Care

We’ll work together as a group and individually to maintain hive health. However, in cases of negligence or controllable issues like swarming or disease, members will be responsible for purchasing new bees.

Yes. Avoid scented products, wear the provided safety gear, and do not participate if you have a bee allergy.

Yes, all required tools and equipment are included for Cooperative Hosting members.

Colonies will be monitored regularly, and results shared with members. Treatments will be required if pest levels exceed acceptable thresholds.
